I have mentioned once before that we have a store cat. Well, he belongs to the gal that shares the other half of the building with me, but we sort of share custody. His name is Applesauce (nickname Appy) and he is a riot. He has such great presence, attitude and a general "I don't give a shit about anything" way about him. Appy has and [usually] can take down most anything he comes across.
When he and my dog Billie met, he tried to kick her ass. What he got instead was my leg. He has a history of violence. Apparently there's some story about him and a duck. (I don't know about you guys, but where I live, the ducks aren't tiny.)
Appy came to us because he belonged to Emily's (owner of the other store in my building) mother but she began having memory issues and couldn't seem to remember to leave him alone when he got pissy.
Appy will be nine in April and now I'm (we're) worried he may not make it. He has a very severe case of diabetes and does not seem to be responding to treatment.
Anyone out there have any experience with a diabetic pet?
Appy looks very unimpressed in that picture, but still adorable. Wish I could help you out on the diabetes though.
